Sunday 21st July 2019, 11am–1pm, Broad Street, Oxford

Thirty churches from across Oxford will be uniting in July for an open-air service, Love Oxford 2019. Building on the success of Love Oxford 2015 and 2017, Christians from all denominations, backgrounds and ethnicities will gather to worship Jesus as Lord with one voice. The purpose is to bless the city of Oxford, to pray for her well-being, to worship God in the open air and to proclaim the good news of Christianity.

Love Oxford will take place on Broad Street, where Bishops Cranmer, Latimer and Ridley were martyred for their faith 450 years ago. Love Oxford is a public declaration of church unity and hope in Jesus Christ.

J.John said, ‘I am delighted to be part of Love Oxford, to proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ. God does love the people of Oxford and I pray that everyone is helped in the journey of faith.’

Charlie Cleverly, Rector of St Aldates’ Oxford says, ‘We are excited about Love Oxford this year. Oxford has a long history of Christian service and witness, including those who even gave their lives for the faith. We are glad to be able to join in with the witness of worshipping communities over the centuries.’

The service will be family-friendly, with activities for young people. Love Oxford invites all, whether from a faith background or none, to hear the good news that Christians believe about Jesus. It will be an opportunity to experience vibrant Christian worship and to see the diversity of churches in the Oxford area.

Love Oxford 2019 is happening with the full permission and support of the City Council, and the event will be staffed by volunteers from local churches.
